Artist Statement

My artwork explores elements of Caribbean culture, the African woman and a child’s imagination. The work is influenced by aspects of  Trinidad and Tobago architecture, birds, flowers, women around the world, as well as the art movement Surrealism. As an artist, I would like to captivate many viewers, inspiring them to appreciate my artwork and to gain more knowledge on the historical information on each piece I produce. My art pieces are both three-dimensional and two-dimensional and I experimented with using materials such as cloth, wood, acrylic paint and glass. The intention in each piece is to capture all elements that are developed in the design process, to produce the final creative artwork.
